The Deer’s Tooth

Saif Hammash
Drama
Released Year: 2024
Duration: 16 minutes

Synopsis

There is nothing more painful than adults failing to keep the promises they make to their children, and it becomes even more agonizing when the child is a martyr whose simple dream was to visit the sea. He wanted to toss his baby tooth into the waves and ask the sun to replace it with a more beautiful one, like the tooth of a small, brown gazelle—a tradition Palestinians have inherited from their ancestors.

However, fulfilling this modest promise proves to be an impossible task for the martyr's older brother, portrayed by the Palestinian artist Wissam Al-Jaafari, whose performance showcases an acting talent truly deserving of acclaim.
